Anger is a normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems – problems at work, in your personal relationships, and in the overall quality of your life. And it can make you feel as though you’re at the mercy of something overwhelmingly powerful and unpredictable. If you feel that this has happened, or could happen, in your life, this program is for you.
Program Goals
Learn to:
- Discuss and explore real life situations unique to you
- Use positive coping mechanisms
- Use appropriate communication styles
- Respond to anger responsibly
- Control immediate responses of anger
- Identify different anger styles
Learn through:
- Activities

- Open discussion
- Power point
- Personal examples
Program Commitment
You are responsible for:
- Attending weekly
- Attending on time
- Participating to your fullest ability
- Respecting the confidentiality of other members in the group
- Respecting yourself and other members of the group
- To attend the program without the company of an intimate partner or friend, as it promotes a more open and honest conversation within the group
Program Description
The Anger Awareness Program is a 10 week cognitive and evidence based program. It runs weekly for ten 1 hour sessions in a closed, confidential group environment.

Week 3: Understanding Perception & Cognitive Distortions
Week 4: Connecting Thoughts & Feelings
Week 5: Cognitive Behavioural Model
Week 6: Communication Styles
Week 7: Assertive Communication
Week 8: Navigating Conflict
Week 9: Self-Care & Boundaries
Week 10: Review & Wrap-Up
