Project Turning Around (P.T.A)
Project Turning Around is an alternative education program provided by the John Howard Society of Niagara, in partnership with the District School Board of Niagara. The program runs half a day for an entire semester and includes up to 15 student participants. Upon successful completion of the program, eligible students may receive as many as two credits.
Cognitive-based programming explores various areas of life, including social skills, anger management, substance abuse, problem solving and employment preparation. The P.T.A modules are specifically designed for students who have displayed a weak attachment towards a traditional school environment and are consequently at risk of dropping out due to poor attendance, lack of required credits, personal difficulties, etc.
