John Howard Society volunteer completes paperwork for probation officer

John Howard Society volunteer completes paperwork for a probation officer.

Volunteers have long been an important ingredient in the John Howard Society of Niagara’s recipe for success.

For decades, our volunteers have been the unsung heroes of our operation. They comfort clients in their times of need; when they have concerns to voice or information to navigate or when they just need someone to talk to – our volunteers are there.

In fact, our volunteers’ dedication and hard work has resulted in significant growth across JHS Niagara. Over the years new services have been developed and existing programs expanded to reach their full potential, thanks to our volunteers.

Some key roles volunteers at JHS Niagara undertake include: completing curfew checks, mediating restorative conferences, etc. They also support various functions, including the day-to-day operations of our resource areas, job fair participation and other community events, as well as several of our regular programs.

Could our next volunteer be YOU?

Volunteers are needed for the Strengthening Families for the Future Program. Please call Caroline Graham, Program Coordinator, at 905-682-2657 ext. 227 for more information.
