In 2000, the John Howard Society of Niagara was approached to assist in the restoration of the Inner Range Lighthouse at Port Dalhousie, which was originally constructed in 1880. Through labour provided by the Wayside Recovery House and the leadership of Mr. Bruce Colby, the house rebuilt during the summers of 2000 and 2001. The lighthouse officially opened on October 6, 2001.
