Morningstar Mill House
The John Howard Society of Niagara has an agreement with the City of St. Catharine’s to restore the Morningstar Mill House to the 1910 era. In 1992 restoration work began on the house. Funds have been raised through bingos and donations of material from various contractors. Initially, the project utilized men from the Temporary Absence Program from the Wayside Correctional facility. During the past six years, work crews have been composed of men from the Wayside House Recovery program.
Eventually, the original furniture currently being stored at the St. Catharine’s museum will be placed in the house for public viewing.
