Henley Island Rowing Course
In the summer of 1980, Mayor Tim Rigby, who was then the president of the Canadian Royal Henley Corporation, was approached by the John Howard Society of Niagara to see if the weekend work program could be applied at the rowing course. This has turned out to be a wonderful match that continues to this day. Men on the Intermittent program have completed over 130,000 hours at the Henley Rowing Course. They have worked on all facets of the course and are the driving force in the maintenance of the course. Additionally the South Niagara Rowing Club has also been aided in the same manner and thousands of hours of work have been completed there through the leadership of Donna Pearson.
